YOUR ITINERARY FOR:

THE INN AT STINSON VINEYARDS

After enjoying The Inn's signature three-course breakfast, head out to enjoy Moorman's River Hike, located at the end of Sugar Hollow Road just past the reservoir.  Just over 7 km, this is great out-and-back beginner's trail that follows a series of small swimming holes that ends at a picturesque waterfall. Plan for about 2 hours to complete the entire trail, and don't forget to pack shoes that can get a little wet.

On your way back, pick up lunch at Smoked Kitchen & Tap. We love their fried chicken sandwich with hot honey, but you can't go wrong with any of their famous, slow-smoked BBQ offerings or farmhouse salads. Grab it to-go and bring it back to The Inn to enjoy poolside with a glass of wine from the self-serve wine bar (pro tip: Stinson Vineyard's Chardonnay is the perfect pairing with Smoked's chicken sandwich!)

Enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting. Head to Septenary Winery  for table side service and enjoy a glass or two. Then stop by King Family Vineyards for one of their self-guided tasting flights before heading back to finish your vineyard tour with a glass at Stinson Vineyards. Let them know you are staying at The Inn for a 10% discount on all wines!

Make reservations in advance to ensure a fabulous dinner at The Ivy Inn, where you'll enjoy well-executed American fare from this 20+ year old area staple.

Upon returning to The Inn, finish your evening with a game of chess in our library, or a final nightcap under the stars. Stinson Vineyard's Imperialis makes the perfect after-dinner drink.

After breakfast, start your morning with a historical tour at Thomas Jefferson's home of Monticello. To ensure your first choice of tour, be sure to purchase tickets online in advance.

Head to Charlottesville's Downtown Pedestrian Mall for shopping at popular consignment boutique Darling x Dashing, followed by lunch at classic French cafe Petit Pois.

After lunch, head to the Charlottesville Dairy Market to grab a beer at the second oldest craft brewery in Virginia, Starr Hill Brewery. We love their The Love wheat beer and their Roxanne raspberry sour—but the beauty is that all their beer is so good, it's hard to have a bad choice.

Late afternoon fruit picking at Carter Mountain Orchard is the perfect seasonal activity, or at least grab one of their fresh apple cider donuts which are always in season!

Head back to The Inn for dinner: choose between our more formal Wine Cellar Dinner or our more casual Chef's Supper depending on the occasion. Either way, be sure to make your reservations ahead of time online (we require a minimum 48 hours notice for Wine Cellar Dinner reservations).

An after-dinner stroll through the vines is the perfect way to cap off your night.
